At the 2009 Maize Genetics Conference, Anastasia and I took a moment to sit down and record a conversation about blogging about plant genetics and genetic engineering. We talked about the challenges ahead of us, what we’d like to do with the site, and how to figure out what to focus on first, and concerns about publicly expressing opinions on contentious topics, just to name a few things. But, it got buried as many things seem to.
We’re working on some new features for the blog… and I’m working on an opinion on a contentious topic. So I thought that now would be an interesting time to bring it online!
In the future, we will be able to record interviews, future conversations, and other messages to play on the blog. You could even subscribe to this category feed in iTunes to automatically download new clips, although I don’t expect them to be as frequent as one might expect from a regular podcast.
The bumper music you hear is Clonin’ DNA by Carl Winter. Can anyone guess where the other clip came from?
