Photosynthetic Animals?

Some of our readers have heard about the many known naturally-occurring Natural GMOs out there, such as Pea Aphids. Nature, it appears is a lot more creative with the different forms of life that evolve than people might think. Well, three interesting creatures make an appearance on this episode of the SciShow – animals that can photosynthesize!

Take that, plants! Plants, however, ate their rivals.

Karl is a Ph.D. Candidate in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics at UW-Madison. In addition to his research on the genetics of sweet corn, he is also studying science communication and is working on several media projects about plant breeding. His favorite produce might just be squash.
