Toxicity of RoundUp and genetically modified gourds... Why is the media not reporting this!?!?! (not pictured: control gourd)

*Okay I guess I technically I didn't "carve" anything... I saw these at the store today and got instant inspiration to do a Seralini-style Halloween gourd study of my own. And NO, I will not release my raw data!!!

I didn't make this one, a former student made it for me a while back. But it is an actual GMO, so I thought I'd share!

Oh, Todd--I just came over here for the first time and I cannot stop laughing. The blue gloves even! I hope you win.

Karl: that was my first guess but in the picture it seemed REALLY big and I couldn't fathom a beet (even one that isn't in my grocery store!) being that big.

Here is my entry into the contest. Behold, a GHOST SQUASH! Seriously, this is actually a white-skinned butternut squash that I got direct from the breeder who developed it. We're going to have more information about it sometime next week - I wish we could this week for Halloween but the timing didn't work out quite right when the idea struck. There's a fascinating story behind this squash - a ghost story about population genetics!
Naturally, I recuse myself from judging my entry.
Frank, look out!
