- Sense About Science is an independent charitable trust promoting good science and evidence in public debates. Check out their section on Making Sense of GM.
- PIPRA (Public Intellectual Property Resource for Agriculture) supports agricultural innovation for both humanitarian and small-scale commercial purposes by bringing together intellectual property from a number of sources and making this technology available to innovators around the world.
- Organizations that advocate against biotechnology
- The Nature Institute advocates a holistic approach to science and favors the precautionary principle when it comes to biotechnology. Their Unintended Effects of Genetic Manipulation section includes summaries of mostly peer-reviewed articles.

- UC Davis’s Seed Biotechnology Center has a series of peer reviewed papers on Agricultural Biotechnology in California.
- Safety of Genetically Engineered Foods: Approaches to Assessing Unintended Health Effects, by the National Academies Press. The full book is available online and is an excellent resource, especially chapter three.
