Did Greenpeace mow down GM wheat AGAIN? April Fools

posted in: News | 9

I have just heard from a colleague in the UK who works at a government research facility, who gave me some disturbing news. Last night, at least two activists broke into the facility with hazmat suits and a lawn mower. According to eyewitnesses, they were wearing Greenpeace logos on their backs. Almost immediately after they started mowing down crops in the field, scientists working late at the site ran outside to see what was going on, and tried to intervene. A scuffle ensued.

Their biggest mistake, however, was leaving behind a video camera that they were using to document the vandalism, which was found at the scene. While my colleague has asked me to keep the specific location and people involved embargoed for now, they have released to me the raw video file of the incident. It is important that people see what happened so that something like this never happens again. What you are about to see is pretty shocking, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.

April Fools, of course! However, stay tuned for a discussion of Greenpeace’s moral arguments. Is it acceptable to break in and destroy GE crop experiments if you believe the end result is good? Does mere belief matter, or the actual result? Post coming up tomorrow.

Lets hope life doesn’t imitate art, but maybe art imitates life. This kind of reminds me of the University of Washington firebombings when the ELF burned a building down because they thought someone was producing GE plants when A) he wasn’t and B) his trees weren’t in that building anyway.

I didn’t know there was a Biofortified channel on YouTube. You guys should make a music video.

It would be funny if it were not so true in demonstrating the stupidity and ignorance of people like THE Soil Association and Greenpeace!
I wonder if they will see the joke? Probably not!
