Norman Borlaug was a plant pathologist who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 for his work breeding high-yielding wheat varieties that were resistant to devastating diseases. In our Borlaug Year series we will be publishing blog posts, photo albums, and video interviews with wheat scientists talking about the challenges with wheat and world food security in the years ahead. March 25th, 2014 marks what would have been Dr. Borlaug’s 100th birthday, and the next 365 days is The Borlaug Year.
